Biography

American professional golfer, a member of the PGA Senior Tour. Archer originally turned pro in 1964. Over the course of his 36-year career he has earned 29 tour victories and $6,985,385 in winnings. The highlight of Archer's time in professional golf came in 1969 when he won the Master's.

He and his wife, Donna have two children, Elizabeth and Marilyn, as well as two grandchildren.

On September 25, 2005, a week before his 66th birthday, the golf champion died at his home in Incline Village, Nevada of Burkitt’s lymphoma.
