Biography
American filmmaker of Japanese heritage and ambiguous sexuality, he is considered a leading light of "queer cinema." He made his first feature film "Three Bewildered People in the Night" in 1987.
His work includes "The Doom Generation (1995), "Totally F***ed Up" (1994), "The Living End" (1992),"The Long Weekend
(O`Despair)" which won the 1989 Los Angeles Film Critics Prize for Best Independent Feature, and "Three Bewildered People in the Night." His films, with their existential themes, and raging messages, often feature gay characters.
