Biography
American organization, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, co-founded by Ingred Newkirk (b. 6/11/1949, Kingston-on-Thames, England). Initiated by those who care for our animal companions, it was grown to 600,000 members by 1998 who advocate the rights of animals.
