Biography
Thai royalty born in Germany, the grandson of King Chulalonghorn. He was sent to Switzerland to study in 1929. When his uncle, King Prajadhipon, abdicated in 1935, he was declared the successor. He returned to Thailand in 1945, and was assassinated 6/09/46. His brother Bhumibal assumed the throne in 1950.
