Biography
Italian military commander in chief of the Italian 2nd Army in Yugoslovakia (now Yugoslavia) in April, 1941. Chief of staff of the Italian Army January, 1942, Chief of the General Staff February, 1943. He was instrumental in bringing about the fall of Mussolini and the Italian renunciation of German alliance. He was later demoted by Marshall Pietro Badoglio to the post of Inspector General. Died 1958.
