Biography
American veteran and popular sportscaster with NBC, fired from his post when he went to trial on sexual charges.
His world was turned upside down and his family of four kids humiliated when his sex-life was opened to the courts with the accusation that he had assaulted his long-time mistress Vanessa Perhach on 2/12/1997. Perhach, 42, and witness P.J. Masten both offered a seamy play-by-play of Albert's peccadilloes, including his wearing of garter belts, ratty wigs, biting and "threesomes" that included young boys.
The trial began 9/22/1997 and after Masten testified that in 1994 Albert had sexually assaulted her for a second time, Albert pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault-and-battery and the felony charge of forcible sodomy was dropped.
Albert's family stood by him as did his fiancé, whom he had met in the mid-80s.
He is currently TNT's lead NBA voice, calls NFL games for CBS, and also calls NCAA tournament action for CBS and Turner Sports.
