Biography

British astrological writer and novelist, a Sun-Sign columnist, journalist and best selling author. A pro astrologer from 1987, Adams’ work includes "Handbag Horoscopes" and "The New Astrology for Women." Her horoscope columns currently appear in British and Australian Daily Telegraph.

She is also the author of "Single White E-mail" and "Tom, Dick and Debbie Harry." Jessica Adams had at various times been an editor, book reviewer, Internet columnist, feature writer and astrologer for many magazines and newspapers throughout Australia. She has also been a scriptwriter and researcher for television. Jessica’s first book, "Astrology for Women," was published in 1997 both in the UK and US and her "Handbag Horoscopes" were published in October 1999.

Apart from fiction, Jessica is also well known as an astrologer through her work as horoscope columnist in Vogue, Cosmopolitan and Sunday Life.

Since 1999, Adams has also developed her abilities as a natural psychic medium, and used her own experiences in the writing of "I'm a Believer."

Adams was born in London's working-class Brixton

and was nine when the family upped and moved to the sedate climes of Launceston in Tasmania. The daughter of a social worker dad and a schoolteacher mom, by the age of seven, she was figuring out horoscopes. Living concurrently in England and Australia, Jessica is deeply involved in aid of the War Child charity. Her anthology of feminine fiction that she edited with Chris Manby and Fiona Walker in 2000, "Girls' Night In," has raised 300,000 pounds for the charity.

She writes, "War Child is the charity which found me by accident, and it has changed my life. For the last three years I have been on a team of three or four editors, putting together books which raise money for War Child's work in Africa, the Balkans and Afghanistan. I remember thinking that Girls' Night In (the first anthology) would make about £50,000. This proves how useless I am with money. We did a cash-count after we landed the advance for Big Night Out (the new book) and realized the total was heading towards half a million! I am now a patron of War Child UK and a trustee of War Child Australia."

By 2002, she had written or co-authored 11 books, and she thinks that's enough. Single at present, her spirit guide tells her that she will marry – but not for some time.
