Biography
British steamship, of the Anchor Line, capsized in the Jellingham Channel of the River Hooghli after hitting a sandbar. Within 20 seconds, she sank, drowning 15. The ship had left Calcutta just the day before with a very large shipment of tea, bound for London.
The ship was launched on October 9, 1888 in Glasgow, Scotland at 2:06 PM LMT, according to the AFSA article.
