Biography

American plane crash that killed 21 members of a National Guard engineering crew aboard. They had taken off from Hurlburt Field near Fort Walton Beach, FL and headed to Oceana Naval Air Station, VA when it went down around 11:00 AM. Three Army personnel and 18 Air National Guard members were aboard the twin-engine C-23 Sherpa that crashed about 30 miles south of Macon, GA. They were on a routine training mission when the inexplicable accident happened. There was an explosion just before the crash, so violent that there was little left of the aircraft, burning on the ground.
