Biography
International flight of a Gulf Air Airbus A320 on a flight from Cairo, Egypt crashed on landing at the Bahrain airport. All 143 people on board were killed, including 36 who were under 18. After circling the airport twice in an attempt to land, on the third attempt it plunged into the sea and exploded in flames. The flight crew did not report any problems but witnesses said that unusual noises were coming from the plane's engines.
The Gulf Airbus registration ID was A40-EK, delivered to Gulf Air on 9/29/1994; it's first flight had been on 5/16/1994.
